你相信“每天坚持阅读一篇短文，英语水平提上去”吗?

　　今天，伊顿教育小编讲一讲“中高端”一点的英语学习，是讲给那些已经过了“基础差”学习，正向起点至少是高中即高中以上的“中高级”阶段的英语学习者听的。

　　我们界定的英语“基础差”为：就算一篇简易英语，他们的“阅读”也要全部翻译成中文才能勉强算是读懂，而且觉得就是这样“英译汉式阅读”已经觉得很有收获了的学习者。这样的“基础差”可考虑暂时绕道。

　　言归正传。有人说：每天坚持阅读一篇短文，英语水平提上去。

　　那么，你相信“每天坚持阅读一篇短文，英语水平提上去”吗?

　　一个人学习英语的过程中，能“坚持每天阅读一篇短文”，这的确是一种难能可贵的精神，也是一种宝贵的学习习惯。首先需要值得肯定，“点赞”。

　　现但是，问题还是来了：你相信“坚持阅读”就和“英语水平的增强”之间有着必然的因果关系吗?

　　其实，这里涉及一个对于英语“阅读”二字，大家可能没意识到的问题：英语阅读，读不是问题，怎么读才是。

　　对于英语“中高级阶段”来说英语“阅读”分为：

　　1.英译汉式阅读(说是“读”英语，实际是“变相”读中文了)。

　　2.英语理解英语式阅读(把英语“留在”英语原语内，用同义词句替换原句理解方式阅读，阅读即“使用英语”)。

　　只有坚持训练出第2种阅读能力，你的“每天坚持阅读一篇短文”才会真正和“英语水平提上去”挂上钩，形成必然因果关系。

　　至于第一点，“阅读”和“增强英语水平”之间不存在必然的因果关系，或者是“事倍功半”之功。

　　1) 我们还是举例说明。试按你习惯的英语阅读模式“读”以下简易短文：

　　one time, I was flying from Detroit to San Francisco and the flight became particularly bumpy at one point.To calm the passengers,the head flight attendant picked up the flight cabin microphone and sang a couple of songs.You know what? The passengers loved it. We were too busy singing and clapping to pay attention to the thunderstorm outside.

　　一般人(尤其“基础差”者，他们甚至会把这种“阅读”模式一直延误到自己“中高级”阶段)是这样“阅读”的(统统翻译成中文“读”)：

　　有一次我从底特律飞往旧金山。飞机在某段飞行中颠簸的特别严重。乘务长为了安抚乘客便拿起机场的麦克风唱了几首歌，你知道怎么了。陈可爱死了，我们忙着唱歌拍手而无暇注意飞机外的雷雨。

　　这是你“习惯”的英语阅读吗?全程英译汉(至少60%以上)。

　　你觉得用这种阅读，“每天坚持阅读一篇短文，英语水平提上去”吗?

　　你这是“赤裸裸”的“读”英语，“用”中文，你的整个阅读过程有“用”英语吗?英语就是“学以致用”的，你体现在哪里?

　　2) 我们还是以同样的那篇简易短文为例，看看什么样的英语“阅读”，才能做到“每天坚持阅读一篇短文，英语水平提上去”，什么样的英语“阅读”，才叫“边读边用英语”：

　　什么?你“读”成中文：底特律?

　　4.读 San Francisco“说” 英语：

　　San Francisco is a city in California,USA in the West Coast.Famous for China Towns.

　　5. 读the flight，“说” 英语：

　　a flight us a travel by plane,or the distance in the air travelled by plane.

　　6.读became bumpy，“说”英语：

　　When we say the road or the flight gets bumpy, we mean the road or flight has lots of ups and downs.It is not smooth.

　　blablabla，以此类推，直至整个阅读结束。

　　这才是“每天坚持阅读一篇短文，英语水平提上去”的“正解”。

　　你有这个“意识”吗?有这个“习惯”吗?有把这个“意识”，“习惯”较后变成a piece of cake的“英语能力”吗?

　　我再举一例(读其中的business days)：

　　As soon as we confirm the buyer received the tickets, we'll send you an email to let you know. Once we begin processing your payment, how quickly you receive your payment depends on the payment type:

　　1.PayPal - Up to 5 business days to appear in your PayPal account

　　2. Check - Up to 12 business days to receive your check by mail

　　你是这么“用英语读英语”吗?

　　Okay.Got you. You know I used to say Work Days when I mean Business Days. Now when I mean Work days, I can also say Business Days,meaning not including Saturday and Sunday in a week.

　　所以，“每天坚持阅读一篇短文”，而且是坚持每天“用英语读英语方式”读一篇英语短文，这才“每天坚持阅读一篇短文，英语水平提上去”的“正解”。

　　英语水平已处“中高级者”，能如此“每天坚持阅读一篇短文”，英语水平岂有“提不上去”之理?
