  附:听力材料

  听力原文:

  (Text 1)

W: Would you rather listen to your favorite songs, enjoy a beautiful view, or eat a delicious meal?

M: Well, we go for a concert once a week, so you know what I enjoy most.

  (Text 2)

M: What is the matter? Why hasn’t our teacher told us the answers?

  W: Yeah, I wish she’d hurry up. I’m impatient.

  (Text 3)

  M: Annie, I’m sorry.

  W: What’s for?

M: I’d like to lend you my camera for your holiday, but I won’t be able to. I’ve promised to take photos at Peter’s wedding.

W: That’s all right. I’ll ask Lily if she has one.

  (Text 4)

M: Most people didn’t use to go to work by car, so we used to get pollution from factories. Now it comes from cars!

W: Yeah, it’s too bad. I do think everyone should do something about it.

  (Text 5)

W: I’m going to the cinema to see Norman Starman III this afternoon. Do you want to come?

  M: Norman what?

W: Where have you been? This is the third Norman Starman film.

  (Text 6)

W: Excuse me, but I’m interested in this suit over there. How much is it going for?

M: You’re in luck. That is one of our best suits, and it normally goes for eleven hundred pounds. But this week we have a special price. It’s on sale for eight hundred.

W: Eight hundred? I’ve never paid more than seven hundred for a suit. That seems a little pricey, don’t you think?

M: Ma’am, the high quality means this suit will last for years.

W: All right. And it’s in style, too. I’ll have a smaller size.

  (Text 7)

M: Mary, I have to find a place to live. The house owner wants my room for her daughter who’s moving back to town.

W: Oh, bad luck! This will be your third time to move. I heard that Josh was looking for a roommate. You know Josh, don’t you?

M: Yes, we met at your birthday party and before long we played in the same football club.

W: That could be a possibility, Sam.

M: OK, I’ll check with him later. By the way, who’s the girl sitting opposite your desk?

W: Oh my! Haven’t you known we have a new secretary? Jane’s here for almost two weeks!

  (Text 8)

W: Hi, John. Have you spoken to your parents about your birthday party yet?

M: Yes, but they still haven’t decided. I’m worried they’re going to say no.

W: It’ll be fine. They trust you, don’t they? Nothing went wrong last time, did it?

M: Well, no, nothing got damaged. But they told me I could invite 12 people — I asked 20. When they found out they were really angry.

W: Oh, dear! Well, I guess you’ve promised not to do that again!

M: Of course. I’ve told them I just want ten people and that we’ll have a barbecue in the garden. But they say we might make a lot of noise.

W: Well, look, if it all goes wrong, you can always have the party at my house.

M: That’s really nice of you, Katie. I’ll talk to my parents tonight and call you later.

  (Text 9)

M: Hi, Tabitha! Are you ready for our trip?

W: Yes of course. I’ve been preparing since the first day of our holiday.

M: My brother was studying in Aberdeen last year. He once went to Glasgow in his friend’s car. He said it was a great place.

W: Good! I’m sure we’ll have a good time there, too. When will we arrive?

M: We’ll arrive there at 2:00 p.m., so we’ll have plenty of time to walk to the hotel we’ve booked.

W: Then we can hire a bike. Riding out in the evening to clubs and to some art museums the next day would be such a great experience.

M: And I’ve booked tickets for a guided tour by bus at the weekend.

W: Well, I thought we would have enough time to visit Edinburgh.

M: I’m afraid we’ll have to leave it next time.

W: All right. So I’ll meet you at the airport at 11:15 on Thursday. I know the flight’s not taking off until 12:30 but we have to check in by 11:30.

  M: OK.

  (Text 10)

W: Hello, welcome to Forest Adventure, the holiday park. I’m Isobel and I’d like to tell you a few things before you go to your houses so you can find everything easily.

The houses are all across the lake from this building. You can reach your houses either by car over the bridge or walking or cycling round the lake on the paths. Cars aren’t allowed on these paths so that they’re safe. You can hire bikes in the bicycle store, which is the building next to this one. You can cycle anywhere in the park, except on the road and in the square. The swimming pools are at the east end of the lake. The shops, with a hairdresser, a chemist and so on, are in front of the swimming pool building. At the other end of the lake we have the tennis and skateboarding areas. Can you see the island in the lake? There’s a barbecue on the island twice a week, one on Sunday and one on Wednesday. So you’ll find there happens to be one today. Of course you’ll have to reach the barbecue in a small boat. And of course we have paths through the forest where you can get away from everything for a quiet walk. Remember free breakfast is offered on Monday and Friday. So enjoy your free meal tomorrow morning. When you arrive at your houses you’ll find more information of all our special events on a notebook. If you have any questions, please do call in here. OK, now I’ll hand this out to you so you can go into your houses and have a good rest.
